Early Years

The Early Years program supports parents/caregivers as they welcome a new baby and honours them as their children’s first teachers to promote early language skills, bonding, learning and playing together. The program features regular home visits, weekly gatherings and connections to community programs and provides weekly incentives to support the family.

The program is available to all Indigenous families in the Yukon. A team of rural and urban Early Years Visitors walk alongside new parents from pregnancy until their child enters school.

The Early Years Family Centre in Whitehorse is at 420 Range Road.
