School’s Back!

YFNED’s Jordan’s Principle Wrap-Around Services are happy to be ramping up to support another school year for the Indigenous children of the Yukon.

There are new hires across our teams, but none more so than the Numeracy Team. Schools across the territory will notice an expanded Numeracy Program offering with many new Math Advocates working to support Indigenous students in their math learning journey.

Monthly Fall Feasts!

Thanks for coming out to our September Fall Feast at the KDCC. It was a total hit, with so many happy families sharing a delicious meal together.

For the next feast, we are at a new location for a brunch on October 19 at Elijah Smith Elementary School. After that, the following feast will be Nov 16, also at Elijah Smith Elementary School.

Film Premiere:

Voices From the Wind

Voices from the Wind River will feature the Whitehorse premiere of “Connections,” a short film by Bethany Paquette that follows the next generation on a journey through the Wind River, a trip put together by YFNED’s Mobile Therapeutic Unit - Wellness Team, CPAWS and Na-Cho Nyak Dun First Nation.

In addition to the film, there will be special speakers, live music, and an auction fundraiser. Proceeds from the event go directly toward future on-the-land trips with Yukon First Nations youth.

Sydney Miller joined us as a new AOC as a Data Entry Clerk and Numeracy Support. She is Ta’an Kwach’an and Dene Dogrib.
